§ Mr. LANE-FOXasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the general desire of Members of all sections in the House that the Small Holdings Acts should be so amended as to secure the payment of fair compensation to farmers whose land was taken for small holdings, the Government would include among their non-controversial legislation promised for this Session a Bill with this object, or would give facilities to any of the private Member's Bills of this character already presented to the House?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThe Government are anxious to see this grievance removed, and if they could be satisfied that the matter would be treated as non-controversial they would be prepared to propose legislation.
