HC Deb 08 March 1910 vol 14 c1298
Mr. LANE-FOX

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in the census of horses recently taken, any return was made of the value, age, or comparative soundness of the horses entered?

Mr. HALDANE

No return is made of the value, age, or comparative soundness of horses. As regards age, horses of four years old and under are not entered in the census. The classification of the horses will be, as laid down in the circular letter, according to suitability for military purposes and will be undertaken by the county associations.
