HC Deb 30 June 1910 vol 18 c1100
Mr. FELL

asked if any of the Norwegian granite to be used in the construction of the docks at Rosyth has yet arrived in this country; and, if so, if specimens of it and of Cornish, Irish, and Scotch granite can be placed in the Tea Room for inspection and comparison?

Mr. McKENNA

Some of the Norwegian granite approved to be used in the construction of the docks at Rosyth has arrived there. Specimens of this and of Irish, Cornish, and Scotch granite can be procured, though it would take some time to do so, and can, if the House should so desire, be placed in the Tea Room; but it may be doubted whether its presence would add to the convenience of Members using the room.

Mr. FELL

asked how many men are now employed on the construction of the docks and works at Rosyth?

Mr. McKENNA

There are 1,124 men now employed on the construction of the dock works at Rosyth.
