HC Deb 30 June 1910 vol 18 cc1091-2
Mr. KERR-SMILEY

asked the Chief Secretary whether he could state what progress had been made in regard to the negotiations for the repair of Port-an-Dhu Harbour, Portrush; and whether he could hold out any hope that the work will be commenced before the winter?

Mr. BIRRELL

A conference took place in March last between the Piers Committee of the Antrim County Council and representatives of the Department. At this conference the question of Port-an-Dhu was discussed. It appeared that the County Council had invited the Urban Council of Portrush to submit to them definite proposals. These had not been received at the date of the conference. No communication in reference to the repair of the harbour has since been received by the Department, who, in the absence of definite financial proposals, are unable to move in the matter.
