HC Deb 29 June 1910 vol 18 cc954-5
Sir FRANCIS CHANNING

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the death on Friday last, at Wellingborough, of Thomas Forman from anthrax by handling hides in the course of his employment; whether he is aware that this is the third death from this cause at Wellingborough in the past few years; whether he has directed a Home Office inspector to attend the inquest on Thomas Forman, and whether he will cause a thorough investigation to be made of all the circumstances with a view to still further precautions against infection being enforced under Home Office Regulations?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I have directed an investigation to be held into this case, and I will circulate a fuller answer with the Votes. [See Written Answers this date.]

Sir FRANCIS CHANNING

Is my right hon. Friend aware that the precautions now taken have been repeatedly proved to be insufficient?
