HC Deb 20 June 1910 vol 18 c14
Lord CHARLES BERESFORD

asked whether the Government have accepted from Waltham Abbey cordite for issue to the Fleet which has failed to pass the heat test laid down as necessary; and, if the heat test has been found superfluous, what test is now employed in order to ensure the safety of His Majesty's ships?

Mr. McKENNA

The reply to the first part of the Noble and Gallant Lord's question is in the negative. With regard to the second part, I am informed that the heat test has not been found superfluous.
