HC Deb 20 June 1910 vol 18 cc22-3
Mr. LYNCH

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the confusion that arises owing to the wrongful application to Australia and other overseas dominions of the terms "Colonies" and "Colonial," he would undertake such a reconstruction of the office of the Secretary of State for the Colonies as would enable a Secretary of State to deal with all mutual affairs between His Majesty's Government and that of Australia and other overseas dominions of the same status and another Secretary of State to deal with matters relating to the Colonies?

Colonel SEELY

With regard to the first part of the hon. Gentleman's question, I fear that I can add nothing to the answers which have already been given to him on this subject. I have no reason to think that the suggestion made in the second part of the question would be acceptable to the dominions.
