HC Deb 20 June 1910 vol 18 c4
Mr. POINTER

asked whether the Colonial Office had under consideration a scheme for a railway to run into the interior and gold bearing regions of British Guiana; and, if so, whether any statement could be made with regard to it?

Colonel SEELY

Proposals to construct a railway into the interior of British Guiana have from time to time been made to the Government, but no definite and acceptable scheme has as yet been laid before them. On the last occasion certain preliminary proposals were put before the Governor by a gentleman interested in the development of the Colony, but no definite offer has resulted.
