§ Mr. ORMSBY GORE (for Marquess of Tullibardine)asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the case of the Licence Duties imposed on the small passenger steamer "Ossian," plying in Loch Etive; and whether he will consider the propriety of amending the scale of Licence Duty on pasenger steamers by fixing a sliding scale on either the tonnage, passenger accommodation, or liquor consumed?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEI have received through the Noble Lord a letter on the subject of the Licence Duty payable in respect of the steamer in question, and I am considering the matter.
