§ Mr. CHARLES BATHURSTasked whether, in making friendly societies the medium of carrying out the proposed scheme of invalidity insurance, the Government propose to differentiate between registered friendly societies on the one hand and unregistered friendly societies and slate clubs on the other, or whether all friendly and provident societies will be utilised alike for this purpose?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEI do not think it would be advisable for me to make a definite statement on this subject at 1255 present, as I have informed my hon. Friend. I may, however, say that every opportunity will be given to all types of friendly societies interested in insurance matters to lay their views before the Government before a final decision is taken.
§ Mr. LAWSONMay I ask the right hon. Gentleman whether he is in communication and negotiation with the great friendly societies on the subject?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEI have been in communication with them since last year, and am still in communication with them.
