§ Mr. KELLYasked the Under-Secretary for India whether he has considered the several memorials to the Government of India from the United Planters' Association of Southern India and from the inhabitants of the district of South Canara, showing the need for the construction of a railway between the Mysore State and Mangalore; whether the Government of Mysore is willing to pay the expenses of the extension as far as it lies within its borders; and whether, in view of the benefits it will confer on Mysore and South Canara by stimulating their trade and industries, he will advise the Government of India to sanction the scheme?
