HC Deb 12 July 1910 vol 19 cc185-6
Mr. KEIR HARDIE

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been drawn to a resolution passed by the Merthyr Tydfil Poor Law Union suggesting that immediate steps be taken for the deletion of the description pauper patient from notices of the death of patients chargeable to unions who die in county asylums, as such description is not only unnecessary, but objectionable and hurtful to the feelings of the relatives of the deceased; and whether he intends taking any action in connection therewith?

Mr. McKENNA (for Mr. Churchill)

My right hon. Friend refers the hon. Member to the replies he gave on 27th June to the hon. Member for the Reigate Division and on 30th June to three other hon. Members, to the effect that the Lunacy Commissioners have been asked to submit a revised form of notice for the Lord Chancellor's approval.
