HC Deb 21 April 1910 vol 16 c2306
Mr. HACKETT

asked, in view of the fact that Patrick Nolan's cottage and plot were inadvertently omitted by the inspector from the order which he made regarding the Thurles Rural District Council's Improvement Order, whether he will take steps to provide Nolan with a cottage and plot, which the negligence of the inspector deprived him of; whether he can state the answer of the Local Government Board to the council's inquiry in reference to this omission; and whether the inspector refused to give any explanation when appealed to by the council?

Mr. BIRRELL

I understand the inspector had no power to issue a supplemental order in this case, as his original order dealt with the council's improvement scheme as a whole. In these circumstances a new cottage and plot can only be provided for Nolan under a further improvement scheme made by the council after the usual preliminaries. The Local Government Board have received no complaint of a refusal on the part of their inspector to explain the omission.
