HC Deb 21 April 1910 vol 16 c2311
Mr. COURTHOPE

asked whether complaints have been received that the rolling stock of the Government railway in the island of Mauritius is insufficient to provide for the transport required by the sugar-cane industry, and that great loss is caused thereby to the inhabitants; and, if so, what steps are being taken to make good this deficiency before the commencement of the sugar-cane harvest of 1910?

Colonel SEELY

Orders are about to be placed in this country for a considerable quantity of rolling stock.

Mr. COURTHOPE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the orders were given in time for the harvest?

Colonel SEELY

I cannot say without notice.
