HC Deb 21 April 1910 vol 16 c2317
Mr. VIVIAN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether the Argentine Government have officially declared that their country is free from cattle disease; whether the British Government have sent any experts to the Argentine during the past six months to inquire into the matter; and, if so, who the experts were, have they reported, and to what effect?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Sir Edward Strachey)

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, and to the second part in the negative.

Mr. COURTHOPE

May I ask whether the British Government have inquired from the Argentine Government as to cattle being driven over to the Argentine from Uruguay?

Sir E. STRACHEY

I must have notice of that.
