HC Deb 12 April 1910 vol 16 cc1049-50
Lord ALEXANDER THYNNE

asked the Under-Secretary for the Colonies whether he is in a position to assign any reason for the reported resignation of Mr. Hugh Gunn, Director of Education in the Orange River Colony; and whether he is aware that Mr. Gunn has gained the respect and confidence not only of his staff but of all classes of the community, both Dutch and English, in that Colony?

Colonel SEELY

The Secretary of State-has no information beyond what has appeared in the Press telegrams. The matter is one for settlement by the Parliament and Government of the Colony.
