HC Deb 11 April 1910 vol 16 cc887-8
Mr. LUNDON

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether Patrick Whelan, planter on the Cloncurry estate, at Brittas, Boher, county Limerick, was offered a farm in the county Louth, in lieu of the one he holds at present; had Whelan accepted the offer of the Commissioners or had he not; and, in the latter case, what reason had he assigned for not accepting the terms offered?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners offered this man a farm in county Louth, but he declined to accept it, as he does not consider it an equivalent for his present holding.

Mr. CULLINAN

Will this man be treated as an ordinary evicted tenant?

Mr. BIRRELL

We will do what we can for him.
