asked the President of the Board of Trade whether an investigation had been undertaken in his Department with respect to the disappearance of the steamship "Waratah," and, if so, whether a Report on the subject was available?

An official investigation has been ordered by the Board of Trade into the circumstances attending the disappearance of the steamship "Waratah," but the date of the inquiry has not yet been fixed. The Report of the court of inquiry will be published in due course.
