HC Deb 05 April 1910 vol 16 c198
Mr. MUNRO

asked the Postmaster-General, if he would state the sum annually payable in respect of the Scrabster-Scapa postal service; and if he would inquire what saving could be effected if the passage across the Pentland Firth were arranged from Gills Bay to Scapa instead of from Thurso to Scapa?

Captain NORTON

The contract payment for the Orkney mail steamer service between Scrabster and Scapa is £2,000 a year. I am having inquiry made respecting the financial effect of diverting the service from Scrabster to Gills Bay.
