HC Deb 28 September 1909 vol 11 c1086
Mr. CECIL HARMSWORTH

asked whether an old age pensioner is entitled to claim from the guardians indoor or outdoor medical relief; and, if so, whether the acceptance of such relief disqualifies the pensioner for the receipt of his pension?

Mr. BURNS

If an old age pensioner applies to the guardians for medical relief it is their duty to consider whether any such relief should be given him, and, if so, in what form. The receipt of any medical or surgical assistance supplied by or on the recommendation of a medical officer would not in itself disqualify the pensioner for the receipt of his pension.
