HC Deb 20 September 1909 vol 11 c6
Sir HENRY CRAIK

asked the Lord Advocate whether, in view of the widespread objection on the part of almost all the local authorities concerned to the proposed transfer of the Central Higher School from Fordyce to Portsoy, and to the interruption which would be thereby caused to the work which has been so long and successfully carried on at Fordyce, he will undertake, on the part of the Scotch Education Department, that approval will not be given until all those interested have had full opportunity of stating their objections, and until these have been carefully considered and all necessary inquiries made?

Mr. ARTHUR DEWAR

The information before the Department upon this subject is not yet complete, and, therefore, full consideration is not yet possible. Perhaps the hon. Gentleman, if he so desires, will repeat his inquiries later—say in three weeks' time.
