HC Deb 13 September 1909 vol 10 c1727
Sir FREDERICK BANBURY

asked whether lands belonging to the Corporation of the City of London, not as a local or rating authority, but as trustees or otherwise, would be exempt, under Clause 24 of the Finance Bill, from the payment of duties leviable under Part I. of that Bill?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Hobhouse)

Clause 24 applies to any land held by a rating or local authority (terms which include the City Corporation) without any limitation as to the purposes for which they are held.
