HC Deb 02 September 1909 vol 10 cc579-80
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the President of the Local Government Board if he is aware that the coroner for West Ham on Monday, 30th August, held inquests on five children whose ages ranged from three months to six years; that in each instance a verdict of died from consumption was returned; if he can state whether the houses in which those children had dived bad been recently inspected by the sanitary inspector; and, if so, what condition were they in; and, if they had not been inspected, will he make inquiries with the object of ascertaining what their sanitary condition is?

Mr. BURNS

I have seen a newspaper reference to the inquests referred to, and am making inquiries into the matter.
