BOTTOMLEYasked the Secretary of State for War what progress he has made with his inquiry into the circumstances under which a large quantity of smuggled hashish or bhang, discovered on a British transport, was recently confiscated by the Egyptian authorities, involving the payment of a heavy penalty by the British Government; whether he has reason to believe that certain British officers were implicated in the matter; and, if so, what steps he is taking or proposes to take to bring them to justice?
