§ Mr. C. BELLAIRSI desire to ask the Prime Minister a question of which I have given him private notice. I wish to ask, in view of his correspondence with Lord Charles Beresford, published this morning, whether any other letters have passed, and what steps he proposes to take for the 741 guidance of Parliament in regard to the grave charges which are made?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI observe that Lord Charles Beresford has thought it right to publish this correspondence in the newspapers to-day, although his last letter was written on Saturday, and was only received by me in the country on Sunday night. The correspondence cannot be regarded as complete until I have had an opportunity of replying to that letter. In the circumstances it would be premature for me at this moment to answer the last part of the hon. Member's question.
