§ The PRESIDENT of the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. Burns)The number of births in England and Wales registered in the first two quarters of 1909 was 466,216. It cannot at present be stated in respect of bow many of these children statutory declarations of conscientious objection to vaccination have been made. The number of declarations received by the vaccination officers during the first six months of the present year may be stated approximately as 88,500.
