Member's last question, the nearest British source of official information, namely, the Consul at Iquitos, has been communicated with; but as this place is some hundreds of miles distant from the scene of the alleged misdeeds his report neither disproves nor corroborates the allegations. I hope, however, to receive very shortly a report from a gentleman who has recently travelled through the district affected, and the United States Government have also been asked what is the nature of the information stated to have been supplied to the United States Consul at Iquitos.
