HC Deb 07 October 1909 vol 11 cc2192-3
Mr. SEDDON

asked the Lord Advocate whether the information which led to the withdrawal of the case of Anton Fredricksen, prosecuted under Section 3, Sub-section 6, of The Whale Fisheries (Scotland) Act, 1907, gave any clue to the name of the owner or the name of the ship found in the prohibited area?

The LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. Ure)

I have nothing to add to the answer given to the hon. Member for Orkney and Shetland on Monday last.

Mr. SEDDON

May I ask the hon. and learned Gentleman whether in view of the widespread feeling created in this district he cannot see his way to inaugurate an inquiry? This is a matter of public importance and an inquiry should be held so that the guilty party should be brought to justice.

Mr. URE

Very careful inquiry was made into the matter by the Procurator Fiscal.
