§ Mr. BOWERMAN (for Mr. William Thorne)asked the Secretary of State for War if he would state what extra money grants per day are allowed to officers whilst on manœuvres; and if any extra money grants are allowed to the rank and file whilst on manœuvres?
§ Mr. HALDANEField allowances at rates varying from 3s. a day upwards according to rank are allowed to officers and 1s. a day to warrant officers, whilst on manœuvres, in aid of the expenses caused 1999 by their being placed under canvas. The rank and file do not receive any extra money grant, they are not put to any similar expense.
