HC Deb 04 October 1909 vol 11 c1640
Mr. ASHLEY

asked whether the batteries of the Territorial Artillery have yet, been supplied with dial sights; and whether all batteries are now in possession of the proper number of plotters and directors as laid down in regulations?

Mr. ACLAND

The dial sights have not yet been supplied. As the House has already been informed they will not be available until those now being used by the Regulars are released by the supply of new pattern sights for the latter. Directors are being issued to all batteries. As regards plotters a few are still due.

Mr. ASHLEY

Is the hon. Member aware that the present dial sights of the Territorial Artillery are made of wood are absolutely useless?

Mr. ACLAND

I am aware they are made of wood, but they are satisfactory for their purpose.

Mr. ASHLEY

If I bring to the notice of the hon. Gentleman certain proofs, will, he look into the matter?

Mr. ACLAND

Certainly.
