Mr. CATHCART WASON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he can state if the Government of Barbados, West Indies, has made any claim against the Peruvian Amazon Company, Limited, or their immediate predecessors in title had made any claim against the said company in respect of outrages against certain of His Majesty's subjects; and, if such claim has been made, he will state the nature thereof?

My right hon. Friend is not aware of any such claim having been made against the Peruvian Amazon Company.

asked the Secretary of State if he can state whether any demand has now been made by British directors or shareholders of the Peruvian Amazon Company in respect of the allegations of torture and murder of Indians forced to collect rubber by the servants of the said company or their immediate predecessors in title?
