HC Deb 03 November 1909 vol 12 c1821
Mr. T. F. RICHARDS

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the following contractors, Messrs. Adams Brothers, Raunds, R. Coggins and Sons, Raunds, and W. Nicholls, Kettering, are not working to the conditions of employment in regard to wages and hours as agreed to by the manufacturers' association representatives and the workmen's union representatives several months ago; whether he will take the necessary steps to insist upon the recognition of the Fair Wages Resolution of this House which in these cases is not being carried out, or will he refuse to place further orders with these firms pending compliance; or what action, if any, does he intend taking in the matter?

Mr. HALDANE

No complaint against the contractors mentioned on the subject of wages clauses in their contracts has been made to the War Office. If the hon. Member will supply me with particulars inquiry shall be made.
