HC Deb 03 November 1909 vol 12 cc1810-1
Mr. HUNT

asked the Lord Advocate why the names of the applicants for land plots in the Outer Hebrides were put into a hat and drawn for by lot instead of being carefully selected by local men of experience and judgment?

Mr. URE

The hon. Member is misinformed. The applicants were carefully selected on the ground of ability to equip, stock, and cultivate a holding. Perhaps I may refer the hon. Gentleman to the recent Debate on this subject for fuller information.
