HC Deb 03 November 1909 vol 12 c1803
Mr. RENWICK

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he could state in whose possession the confidential drawings or plans of H.M.S. "Indomitable" were at the time of their disappearance; and whether any other drawings or plans have similarly disappeared during the last two years?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. McKenna)

It would not be in the public interest to give details of the circumstances of the loss of the drawings referred to. I am unable to trace any similar disappearance of drawings or plans during the last two years.

Mr. RENWICK

Are better precautions now taken?

Mr. McKENNA

It is not exactly a case of better precautions being taken. I cannot for the reason I have given explain the circumstances, but I think the hon. Member will agree that every precaution was taken at the time.
