§ Lord BALCARRESasked the President of the Local Government Board, if he can undertake to comply with the repeated requests of the Lancashire Education Committee that the Board shall withdraw their objection to the insertion of a clause in the agreements between the council and non-county boroughs respecting loans for higher education, in order to safeguard the financial interests of the county authority?
§ Mr. BURNSThe difficulty in this matter was a legal one, but I am glad to say that it has now been removed, and that the Board have felt themselves able to waive their objection to the proposed clause in the agreement. They have so informed the Lancashire Education Committee.
