§ Mr. JOYNSON-HICKSasked the Prime Minister whether he or the Government have, since the Royal Commission on the Welsh Church was appointed, made any representations or requests to them; and, if so, what were they and what was the result?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI have on one or two occasions been in communication 403 with the chairman of the Royal Commission in connection with questions of which notice has been given by hon. Members. I am not aware that any requests have been addressed to the Commission by or on behalf of the Government.
§ Mr. JOYNSON-HICKSWill the Government be prepared to consider the question of making a request to the Royal Commission to abstain from publishing two volumes of the evidence without publishing a third?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI think that would be an illegitimate interference with the discretion of the Commission.
