asked what were the average prices of wheat during the year ending 31st December, 1908, in the cities of Paris, Berlin, and London, and the average imports in percentages in each case?

The official average price of wheat during the year 1908 was 38s. 10d. per quarter of 480lb. in Paris and 45s. 2d. in Berlin. The "Gazette" average price of British wheat sold in London during the year was 33s, per quarter. No official information is available with regard to the price of imported wheat consumed or sold in London, but the average declared value of all wheat imported into the United Kingdom during the year was 36s. per quarter. The proportion of imported wheat to the total wheat supply of each of the three countries during the cereal year ended 31st August, 1908, was 1.9 per cent. in France, 39.1 per cent. in Germany, and 78.4 per cent. in the United Kingdom.
