HC Deb 17 May 1909 vol 5 cc8-9
Lord BALCARRES (for Sir Samuel Scott)

asked the Secretary of State for War which Yeomanry brigades he proposed to employ as the independent cavalry of the Territorial Army, and in what respects their duties will differ from those laid down in the cavalry training for the regular cavalry?

Mr. HALDANE

The first part of the question is connected with the scheme of home defence, which is of a confidential nature. It is not in the interests of the service to specify the yeomanry brigades which would be employed as independent cavalry of the Territorial Force. The difference between the duties of the regular cavalry and yeomanry is explained in Appendix IV., Cavalry Training, 1907.
