HC Deb 17 May 1909 vol 5 c2
Mr. BOTTOMLEY

I beg to present a Petition signed by upwards of 2,000 motor car drivers and conductors in the employ of the London General Omnibus Company, pointing out that the additional petrol tax means an increase cost of upwards of 3s. per day for each car, the whole of which is to be placed upon them by their employers, who, at present, are earning no profits—according to the petition—and pointing out that they already pay considerable sums to the revenue by way of licence duty; and praying the House under these circumstances not to place this additional burden upon them.

Petition brought to the Table.
