§ Mr. BIRRELLAs regards 1906 and 1907, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on my behalf to a question asked by him on 6th April, 1908. The number of claims made, and the amount of compensation awarded in 1908 are given in the Return ordered on his Motion on 18th February. The number of cases in which persons were made amenable in 1908 cannot be ascertained without local inquiries. If the hon. Member wishes to move for a Return I will give it.
