HC Deb 10 May 1909 vol 4 cc1441-2
Sir IVOR HERBERT

asked the Prime Minister whether the Bill promised in the King's Speech to amend the law in regard to inebriates will be introduced before the Whitsuntide recess; and, if so, whether any date has been fixed for its introduction?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of the HOME OFFICE (Mr. Herbert Samuel, for the Prime Minister)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The Secretary of State said, in reply to a question by the hon. Member for the Oswestry Division on 29th April, that he hoped this Bill would be introduced soon, but was not yet in a position to name the day. I regret there is nothing to add to that answer at present.
