HC Deb 10 May 1909 vol 4 c1454
Mr. BELLAIRS

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty on what date was the "Invincible" taken over by the Admiralty from the contractors after the completion of her trials; for how long have her eight 12-inch guns been disabled for battle purposes owing to the breakdown of the electric training arrangements; and on what date were her fire-control instruments for use aloft supplied to her?

Mr. McKENNA

The "Invincible" was taken over from the contractors on 15th March, 1909. At no period since her acceptance have the 12-inch guns been disabled for battle purposes owing to breakdown of the electric training gear or from any other cause. The fire-control instruments contracted for with the ship were supplied before the ship was accepted.
