HC Deb 10 May 1909 vol 4 cc1427-8
Mr. WILLIAM REDMOND

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in formulating the scheme for afforestation which he mentioned in his Budget statement, he would bear in mind the Report of the Irish Departmental Committee on Forestry, and see that the recommendations of that Report respecting Ireland were carried out as soon as possible?

Mr. LLOYD-GEORGE

I am aware of the Report in question. As regards my own proposals in connection with afforestation, I may, perhaps, refer the hon. Member to the financial statement which I laid before the House on the 29th ultimo.

Mr. WILLIAM REDMOND

The general proposals of the right hon. Gentleman will, of course, include Ireland, and cover the recommendations of the Committee?

Mr. LLOYD-GEORGE

I think I said so in reply to the hon. and learned Member for Waterford.
