HC Deb 03 May 1909 vol 4 c717
Captain CRAIG

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is in a position to state the result of the conference between the Irish Lights Commissioners and the Trinity Brethren, promised to be held during the Easter recess, regarding the position of the temporary buoy moored 6½ miles from Ballyquinton Point?

Mr. TENNANT

The conference has not yet taken place, but I am informed by the Trinity House that they are making arrangements with the Commissioners of Irish Lights for holding it. I am aware of no promise that the conference should take place during the Easter recess.

Captain CRAIG

May I ask if this conference will take place on the spot?

Mr. TENNANT

I think the suggestion is that it should be held in London.

Captain CRAIG

Will witnesses be called?

Mr. TENNANT

I do not think that the conference is one for calling witnesses.

Captain CRAIG

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that such a conference would be absolutely useless?

Mr. TENNANT

No, Sir, I am not aware of it.
