HC Deb 30 March 1909 vol 3 cc177-8
Mr. WEIR

asked the Lord Advocate whether, having regard to the fact that the Congested Districts Board recently received from the Stornoway Parish Council a list of cottars in the island of Lewis willing to migrate to the mainland, he would state the number of cottars comprised in the list?

Mr. URE

I can only refer my hon. Friend to my reply of 24th March on this subject.

Mr. WEIR

Will not the right hon. Gentleman answer my question—how many applications from cottars have been received? And is he aware of the fact that I furnished the Scottish Office two years ago with the names of 140? Has that number been increased or decreased?

Mr. URE

I have no further information on the question than is contained in my answer of 24th March last, which deals with all the points raised by my hon. Friend.

Mr. WEIR

Will the right hon. Gentleman take care that accurate information is supplied to this House?
