HC Deb 29 March 1909 vol 3 cc9-10
Sir HENRY KIMBER

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the functions and duties of the Intelligence Department of the Admiralty include the collection of information from mercantile and financial sources of the transactions of a foreign Government or their agents or manufacturing firms in procuring materials or money for warlike purposes; and, if so, what information was in possession of the Department in July, 1908, as regards Krupp's loan of £2,000,000 and the increase of their works?

Mr. McKENNA

The reply to the first part of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative. The latter part of the question was fully answered in my reply to the hon. Member for the Walton Division of Liverpool on the 22nd March.
