Mr. HAYDEN

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland what were the fees paid to Mr. Denis Henry, K.C., who presided at the Drumdoe inquiry in 1905; how many days did the inquiry last; and the total cost of the proceedings?

Mr. BIRRELL

The fee paid Mr. Henry, K.C., in connection with the Drumdoe inquiry was £170, being £50 for the first day and £20 a day for six subsequent days. The inquiry lasted seven days, and the total cost of the proceedings was £937 18s.
