HC Deb 04 March 1909 vol 1 c1575
Mr. SUMMERBELL

asked the Under-Secretary for the Colonies if he is aware that discontent exists in Trinidad as to the treatment meted out to the employees on the Government railway; if he could give the number of men dismissed last year, the nature of the offence justifying such dismissal, and the fine or punishment imposed in each case, the number of men reduced in position, and the nature of the offence calling for such charge; and whether any of the employees so treated had an opportunity of defence, and, if so, the nature of the decision?

Colonel SEELY

I am not in the position to give the details asked for by my hon. Friend, as the report on the railways for last year has not yet been received, but the question will be referred to the officer administering the Government of Trinidad.
