HC Deb 29 July 1909 vol 8 c1341
Captain DONELAN (for Mr. W. Redmond)

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he will take any steps to provide suitable buildings for the purposes of technical education in Ireland?

Mr. CHERRY

As my right hon. Friend has already stated, in reply to questions on the same subject recently asked by the hon. Members for St. Patrick's Division and for North Cork, there is not at present any prospect of providing additional grants for the building of technical schools in Ireland.

Mr. FLYNN

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is an absolute consensus of opinion in Ireland in favour of building these schools?

Mr. CHERRY

I know that, but it is a case of money.
