HC Deb 21 July 1909 vol 8 c521
Mr. J. P. HAYDEN (for Mr. Hazleton)

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government would be prepared to accept an Amendment to the Superannuation Bill giving pensions to the 30 or 31 writing clerks of the High Court of Justice in Ireland; and whether he is aware that such a course has been recommended by the Master of the King's Bench, the Senior Registrar in Chancery, the Chief Registrar (Probate), the Registrar of the Land Judge's Court, and the Chief Clerk of the King's Bench Division?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The extension of pension rights to officers who do not already enjoy them is not within the scope of the Bill; the Government could not, therefore, accept a recommendation in the sense mentioned.
